Who this person is?

In fact, I know a large number of bilingual individuals. Immediately after viewing this Cue Card topic, I recalled their names and images. However, for this cue card topic, I'd like to talk about my uncle Joseph, who speaks English extremely well. In our country, English is the second language, and many of us speak it quite proficiently. However, my uncle Joseph graduated from the University of London and remained in London for over seven years. After returning to his native country, he entered the teaching profession. He currently teaches history at a college.
Joseph is two years younger than my father, and I have known him since I was a child. Currently around 40 years old, he resides nearby. He is a loving father of three children and a devoted teacher whose pupils adore him. When I listen to him speak, I experience a calming sensation due to his natural accent and amiable speaking manner.

What language this person can use/speak?

In addition to his native language, he speaks English fluently and, from what I've heard, Spanish, Hindi, and French as well. I have observed him conversing with a large number of American and British instructors, and he seems to speak very naturally with them. I assume that he must speak English daily because the college where he teaches has many foreign students and instructors. He must also deliver his lectures in English. I occasionally speak English with him, but I cannot compete with his proficiency, academic knowledge, and experience.

How often this person uses/speaks this language?

I frequently sought his guidance in regards to my studies, as he possesses an exceptional instructional style. Whenever I encountered a difficult grammatical issue, I turned to him for assistance. He had the explanation skills of a magician!

The instruction of a second language is required in our curriculum. Consequently, everyone in our country must acquire a second language. The majority of college and university lectures, exams, and textbooks in our country are presented in English. This second language was likely mastered by my uncle as part of his academic studies. However, his studies at a university in the United Kingdom and his seven years of residence in this country must have greatly enhanced his knowledge and language fluency. The other foreign languages he can read and speak must have been acquired as a consequence of his personal interests and time spent in different countries.

Like others, his early years were thorny. He worked at an international organisation after much hardship. He became an organisation manager by hard work and integrity. He must solve many problems with his second language.

Dad's Spanish is native. Language club taught him. He wanted to learn another language for work. He speaks English well. He wanted to learn more useful skills. He moved for Spanish. Luckily, the Spanish organisation hired him. They needed a France manager. They also wanted a language speaker. It was important as most activities involved Spanish clients and producers. Thus, a candidate with low Spanish skills cannot undertake all duties. Dad got the job because everything matched.

How often this person uses/speaks this language?

His office staff is mostly Spanish, thus he must speak and write in Spanish. English and French are beyond them. He must speak the language with them daily. He also communicates with the company's headquarters occasionally. His Spanish superiors need to speak Spanish. His second language helps him write letters, issue orders, and more. He speaks French with us at home. He never speaks it at home. I learned about his second language use when I visited his office. He also used words well.

Dad acquired the language out of necessity. He learned the second language since he knew its importance. His language learning took approximately two years. He took weekend language classes. He also practised the language at home with peers. He wrote a lot too. He finished the course after several struggles. He now benefits from his past struggle. Learning the language was smart. He arbitrarily chose the language, but happily he got to use it. I assume he self-taught the language for the future.

There are few individuals in my country who can speak or use a foreign language, despite the fact that the majority of the population speaks at least two languages. Many institutions' curricula include subjects such as French, German, and even Sanskrit. However, only a small number of individuals diligently study these languages. Despite the fact that none of my close acquaintances can use or speak a language other than English and their native tongue, one of my college friends is fluent in French.
