Describe A Person Who Always Has Interesting Ideas or Opinions Cue Card

Topic: Describe A Person Who Always Has Interesting Ideas or Opinions Cue Card

You should say:

  • Who this person is?
  • What this person does?
  • How you knew him/her?
  • And explain why you think his/her ideas or opinions are interesting.

Answer 1:

Who this person is?

The person I would like to describe who always has interesting ideas and opinions is one of my college professors, Dr. Anirban Sen. He taught us sociology in college and made a huge impact on me because of the way he thought and expressed his ideas. Even after all these years, I remember many of his ideas, which is a testament to the impact he made on me.

What this person does?

Dr. Sen is a professor and researcher who focuses on social behavior and cultural studies. In addition to being a professor, he also writes research papers, gives lectures in seminars, and guides students. However, what makes him truly unique is not only his knowledge but also his ability to relate theoretical ideas to practical life. He never restricted his knowledge to books; rather, he taught us to watch society, challenge traditions, and develop our own opinions.

How you knew him/her?

I was introduced to him during my first year in college. At first, I thought he would be like any other lecturer, but from the very start of the class, he was different. He did not begin by defining terms but asked us questions about our lives, our beliefs, and our assumptions. As time passed, I had the opportunity to interact with him during class discussions, group work, and even casual conversations after class.

And explain why you think his/her ideas or opinions are interesting?

I find his ideas and opinions interesting because they are original, balanced, and thought-provoking. He never imposed his ideas on us, but rather offered us several ideas and let us decide what was the most sensible one. For instance, when he was talking about social media, he did not simply say that it is good or bad. Rather, he told us how it is empowering people, but also how it is creating pressure and misinformation. His balanced approach to ideas helped me develop critical thinking skills. His opinions always pushed me out of my comfort zone, but they also broadened my horizons. That is why I think he is a person who really has interesting ideas.

Answer 2:

Who this person is?

The person I would like to mention, who never gets exhausted with interesting ideas, always approaching things in new ways, is my close friend Riya. She notices things in life in ways most people don’t, making conversations with her interesting in more ways than one.

What this person does?

Riya is a content strategist at a digital marketing agency. Essentially, her activities include conceptualizing, understanding the psychology of the masses, and conceptualizing novel communication programs. Though her profession tends to encourage her to think out of the box, her creativity overflows into her professional atmosphere as well. Even in normal conversational discussions pertaining to films, affairs, and current social topics, she tends to provide perspectives that are commonly neglected by others.

How you knew him/her?

Riya is a friend I met in school, but over the years, our relationship has only strengthened. Riya actually came back in college, and we remained close to that extent. It doesn’t matter whether we are taking a long walk, typing away into the night, or just grabbing a cup of coffee; what strikes me about her is the distinct way she ticks.

And explain why you think his/her ideas or opinions are interesting?

What is so attractive about her ideas is that she has the ability to break the mold of society without going over into disrespect. For instance, when discussing success, she doubts if money is enough for one to say that it is an achievement. Her ideas revolve around logic, experience, and empathy rather than relying solely on feelings. Opposing ideas excite her, and she loves debating, making discussions with her not only engaging but not argumentative. Every time I have discussions with her, I walk away feeling somewhat ignited intellectually.

Answer 3:

Who this person is?

I want to talk about my uncle. He’s the kind of guy who can take a regular chat and turn it into something you remember for a long time. Seriously, he always brings up ideas I hadn’t thought of, and he’s never boring.

What this person does?

He runs a small bookstore and stationery shop in our neighborhood. It’s not the most glamorous job, but the guy reads more than anyone I know. Newspapers, novels, non-fiction—you name it, he’s probably read it. That’s probably why he always knows what’s going on and has something interesting to say.

How you knew him/her?

I’ve known him since I was a kid, of course, but lately I’ve realized how much I actually learn from him. During family get-togethers or just over tea, he’ll share his thoughts on what’s happening in the world or tell a story from his own life. Over time, I think his way of looking at things has rubbed off on me.

And explain why you think his/her ideas or opinions are interesting?

What I love about his ideas is how practical they are. He doesn’t just go along with the crowd, and he never tries to sound impressive. For example, everyone’s always saying how technology makes life better, but he also points out how it’s made people less patient, or how nobody really talks face-to-face anymore. He’s not extreme about it, though. He always finds a middle ground between old ways and new ideas. Plus, he has this talent for breaking down complicated stuff and making it easy to get. Honestly, listening to him has helped me see things more clearly and make better choices. That’s why I find his ideas so interesting.
