Model Answer 1
Where it is?
Modern architecture is a form of construction that prioritises functionality and a streamlined appearance over ornamentation. Sharp, clean lines are prevalent in this style. Modern architecture can be found in a number of styles all around the world. Today, though, I'd like to talk about the Lotus Temple, a well-known modern Indian temple.
The Lotus Temple, also known as the Baha'i House of Worship, is not only a modern Indian architectural masterpiece, but also one of the world's most visited religious establishments.
The Temple is a place of worship open to individuals of all races, beliefs, and castes, and is located on a 9.7-hectare area near Nehru Place in South Delhi.
What does it look like?
This House of Worship is designed like a lotus flower, which is revered to the majority of Indians.
What it is used for?
The construction is made up of three levels, each with nine petals erupting from a pedestal that raises the superstructure over the plain. The first two layers bend inward to cover the inner dome, while the third layer folds outward to cover the nine apertures. The central chamber is 34 metres across and 33.6 metres above the podium.
And explain why you like/dislike it.
This architectural concept is appealing to me since the entire superstructure of the Lotus temple is built to operate as a series of skylights with glass at the apex of the inner petals, beneath the outer petals, and on the exterior side of the entry petals. Furthermore, light filters into the centre hall in the same way as a lotus flower does, making it magnificent and eye-catching.

Where it is?
The Musee Du Louvre, also known as the Louvre Museum, is a fantastic example of a modern edifice in Paris, France, in my opinion.
What does it look like?
It appears to be a glass pyramid with elaborate constructions of geometrical lines extending across all directions. It also has an inverted glass pyramid that extends deep into the earth and serves as a skylight. The Louvre is a vast museum that has hundreds of stunning Renaissance artefacts and artworks, giving it a collection of everlasting beauty.
What it is used for?
In fact, the Louvre is home to Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, one of the most costly paintings in history. The Louvre was originally constructed as a fortress during the reign of Louis XIV, but was later refurbished in the nineteenth century by some of France's most renowned architects. I adore the Louvre because it is such a contrast between a timeless classic and new building.
And explain why you like/dislike it
It is the world's largest museum, and seeing all of the art shown in the Louvre would take more than 100 days. It wasn't available to the public until 1793, and the famous glass pyramid wasn't unveiled until 1993. What makes the Louvre intriguing is its rich history, which contributes to the museum's originality and oddity.

Where it is?
Taiwan is a country I visited about ten years ago. The amazing Taipei 101 building in the capital city of Taipei has become a symbol of the country on the global scale. It was the highest skyscraper in the world at the time, but it no longer holds that title.
What does it look like?
This structure is unlike any other skyscraper in the world since its architecture reflects Asian identity. The structure was supposed to resemble bamboo, a robust but flexible plant that grows throughout much of East Asia. This is not just an aesthetic option; the form also contributes to the building's ability to withstand high winds and even earthquakes.
What it is used for?
When I went, I noticed the mall at the bottom and took the lift to the top level. Because the lift is the quickest in the world, it was an exhilarating experience. I'm not sure what the remainder of the building is made of, but I'm guessing it's office space. Many people congregate at the summit to take in the breathtaking views of the city, and you can even go outdoors to feel the wind.
And explain why you like/dislike it.
I thoroughly loved my visit to Taipei 101 and would return if given the opportunity. It's a stunning structure that can be appreciated from afar, and the views from the top are truly breathtaking. I enjoy how it stands out from other large structures and reflects the dynamic city beneath it.
