Model Answer 1

What it was?

I maintain a healthy lifestyle by following a balanced diet, engaging in regular exercise, and practicing daily meditation to reduce mental stress and increase energy levels.  One health problem I once had was chronic back pain. It started as a minor discomfort, but over time it became so severe that it affected my daily activities.

What problems it caused you?

I was unable to sit or stand for long periods of time without experiencing pain, and I found it difficult to sleep at night. This caused problems at work as I was unable to focus and be productive, and it also affected my personal life as I was unable to participate in activities that I enjoyed.

What you did to control it?

To control my back pain, I first tried over-the-counter pain medication, but it provided only temporary relief. I then consulted a doctor who recommended physical therapy. I worked with a physical therapist to learn exercises that strengthened my core and back muscles, as well as stretches that helped to loosen tight muscles. I also made changes to my posture and the way I moved to reduce the strain on my back. In addition to physical therapy, I also made lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking and reducing my stress levels through meditation and yoga.

Explain how you felt about this health problem?

I felt frustrated and discouraged by my back pain, but I also felt determined to find a solution. I was glad that I was able to take control of my health and improve my condition through a combination of physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and self-care. It was a long journey but eventually I was able to achieve a good level of control and live a normal life.

Model Answer 2

What it was?

The old proverb "health is wealth" is a saying we've all heard since childhood signifying that health is more important than money. A healthy body is one who has good physical, mental and emotional health. But, once during my college days, I suffered from a serious health issue. One day, I was feeling high fever, with a cold and cough, severe chest pain and a little bit of shortness of breath. My parents took me to the nearby hospital, and after various diagnoses and tests it was revealed that I'm suffering from Pneumonia and I had to be on complete rest for the next 15 days. I remember, it was a worse time for me because I had to take lots of medicines and to follow a strict diet chart.

What problems it caused you?

My parents, especially my mother, took great care of me during this tough time. My friends often come to my house and support me during this time. Thus, I was in completely dire straits where I was physically and mentally exhausted. I was often examined by the doctor, he was very gentle and kind and answered all my queries, doubts and advised me about my diet, meditation and sleep.

What you did to control it?

Finally after a fortnight the doctor told me I look much better now than before, and with the care and support of everyone, I finally recovered from Pneumonia. All the praise goes to the doctor and nursing of my parents. Though I never had such a big problem again, I have learnt that maintaining good health adds life to one's years. To remain fit one should follow a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet, proper physical exercise and meditation. The metabolic processes in our body totally depend on the food we consume everyday.

Explain how you felt about this health problem?

Nowadays, due to the availability of junk food or various canned foods, our eating habits have drastically changed. We often see children who are fond of various exotic foods and they don't want to eat healthy foods like milk or fruits. In this case, parents should take the responsibility to convince them of the necessity of nutritious foods in our daily lives, besides various healthy and delicious homemade dishes should be served to the children to avoid their craving for junk foods.

Gautam Buddha once remarked on health - "To keep the body in good health is a duty....otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear." So, good health is a blessing which is bestowed upon us. Illness creates discomfort in ourselves and when someone in our family gets affected, other members experience anxiety and nervousness. I'm generally as fit as fiddle, and follow a healthy lifestyle regularly. But some years ago, I vacationed in north India where I ate some street food and got very bad food poisoning.

What problems it caused you?

When I came back to the hotel, there was severe pain in my abdomen, I was feeling nauseous and vomiting all night. My throat is inflamed and there was an acute pain in my whole body. It was the worst time ever in my life and felt like I was going to die. Next day, the doctor confirmed it was due to the foodborne illness and prescribed me some medicines and advised me to follow a balanced diet. After 3/4 days, finally it was resolved. Now, everything is fine and this serious illness never happened to me again, but I have realized the importance of maintaining a healthy diet.

What you did to control it?

To remain fit and fine everyone should avoid various street food, prepackaged food and things like that. They are unhealthy in nature and sometimes detrimental to our health. Though it depends on the individual how he/she remains healthy and fit because a person's lifestyle directly affects his/her health. However, in the present day, people have become more aware of their health, because they realized the significance of being healthy, and the Covid situation taught us a lot.

Explain how you felt about this health problem?

So, every human being should maintain healthy habits because if we follow a positive lifestyle, our youngsters will definitely follow us. Parents should arrange a family meal where children take part and are more likely to eat fruits, vegetables and grains. It is a great chance to involve them in balanced diet planning and preparation. School lunches can be another healthy food option for kids. Teachers should tell the children about the Importance of a balanced appetite in one's life. Hence, good and balanced mealtime habits we create for them can lead to a lifespan of healthier choices.
