Model Answer 1

What was it?

I recently made a wise choice to listen to someone who was upset. These days, it seems that practically everyone is constantly busy, which has managed to give us a propensity to not care about others. I believe it has provided us an excuse or an escape from being ignorant about other people of our society, more so than just a predisposition. When I made the decision that I did not want to be a part of this illiterate system, I was also acting in this manner by dismissing someone's scream for assistance. An elderly woman came up to us from the hospital across the street at this precise moment. She was making an effort to speak to us and appeared to be quite thirsty.

When you made it?
It was a random Monday afternoon when my friend and I were in a shop buying a chilled water bottle to beat the scorching heat. Like the majority of the people present around us, we too ignored what she had to say and started leaving as we were late for an appointment. This is when something in me just made me stop all of a sudden, and I turned back to ask her what had happened? All that poor lady wanted was to be helped with some food. My friend and I immediately bought her some snacks and a cold beverage to make sure she would stay hydrated.

What was the result?
When we offered it to her, the elderly lady looked like she was at a loss for words. The act that I did for that lady was quite small, but the result that it brought about was indeed significant. The way the elderly woman looked at us told a thousand words. She came to the shop with much hesitation as she could not even speak the sentences out loud. This was because she did not expect anyone to listen or care. So when we did listen to her, we made her have faith in humanity again.

Explain how you felt about it?
I felt extremely content with myself that day. I was happy about the fact that I was able to stop myself from doing something wrong and do something about it there and at that moment itself.

Model Answer 2

What was it?

I recently made a wise choice to experiment with intermittent fasting to lose weight.

When you made it?
I made this decision approximately 3 weeks ago. I think you would find me rather strange if I told you that all these years I was oblivious that a method like this existed for weight loss. I genuinely thought that fasting was only done for religious purposes. Moreover, anyone who intentionally controlled their meals was harming themselves. Not taking the proper amount of calories required in a day is a way to harm an individual’s body. Hence, I was very against this concept of skipping meals once in a while to lose weight. Suddenly, one day I stumbled across a youtube recommendation that was talking about the benefits of intermittent fasting. I thought that the video was some sham but still decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the video explained the benefits of intermittent fasting in a very scientific manner. This led me to do more research about it until the moment when I decided myself that I would also give this method a try. I started intermittent fasting 3 weeks ago with much hope as well as doubt that whether it would work. It was easy to do it in the beginning, but as days passed by I started missing food more and more. Each day became progressively more difficult than the previous one.

What was the result?
After 3 weeks, I finally gathered enough courage to check my weight. I think it was one of the happiest moments of my life when I finally saw the reading scale. It showed that I had lost 3 kgs of weight in 3 weeks. It was such a dramatic change for me because no matter how much exercise or workout I did at the gym, the maximum weight that I had lost was 1 kg in 1 month.

Explain how you felt about it?
I was extremely happy as I had finally found a method that seemed to work in my weight loss journey. I was also very proud of myself that I managed to remain consistent for 3 weeks. Sure there were some falling off-the-track moments but I still managed to keep going on.

Model Answer 3

What was it?

I recently made the wise choice to resist the urge to put things off. I made the decision not to put off taking my just completed tests. Exam time is when students procrastinate the most, which is an undisputed fact. I also firmly believed this to be true.

When you made it?
For a very long time, my study routine had been the same, which was to start studying at the very last minute. The method was very effective as it made sure that I studied with my full concentration with the ticking bomb of time above my head. But naturally, this method of trying to learn everything at the last minute possible had more flaws than merits. I was well aware of these flaws that include the fact that I had to sacrifice my sleep each time or that when I started this late. In addition, there was never enough time left or just the simple fact that I decreased my quality of studying by doing this method. Therefore I had decided quite firmly that for the upcoming exams I would not procrastinate and study in a way that I had always longed to do. I wanted to show some willpower instead of becoming a slave to my desire to procrastinate. I knew that to beat procrastination, I had to start studying the very moment I woke up. And that is what I did.

What was the result?
The result of my decision was that I managed to study the entire day for my exam. Yes, there were moments when I lost my concentration, so I gave myself a few breaks to keep me going for the entire day. It was also very exhausting as no matter how long I studied, the rate at which I was completing the syllabus was very slow. This made me miss the time when I would complete the syllabus at the speed of light at the very last minute. But still, I kept going on until the end of the night till I was satisfied with the amount of syllabus that I had finished.

Explain how you felt about it?
I was very happy and proud of myself as I had finally managed to break out of the web of procrastination. I had stood up to change something that I did not like about myself and thus was very happy with the result.
