Model Answer 1

What is the goal?

Learning French has been one of my major goals for the past six years.

Why is it your goal?

I like to read original literature rather than translations since I enjoy reading. It is stated that only the original text contains a text's true soul. Many of the concepts are not accurately translated when they should be. The fact that I enjoy seeing French films is another factor. Although I like their movies, I don't want to read the subtitles. Unfortunately, I have to keep reading the screen rather than taking in the movie because of my poor French vocabulary. I get the impression that the movie-watching experience was interrupted frequently, making it difficult for me to comprehend the speech or appreciate the scenery. These are the main causes for which I have made learning French a priority. I have seen beautifully rendered representations of French culture in books and films, and language is an integral component of any culture. An individual can connect to a new culture by learning the language.

How easy or difficult do you think it will be to reach the goal?

The objective of learning French could appear challenging, nevertheless. But for me, it wasn't that challenging. Earlier, I picked up a few new terms and phrases. Additionally, I was able to grasp them in some way because I enjoy French movies.

How do you plan to achieve this goal?

I made numerous attempts to learn the language but was never successful because I was unable to employ it in day-to-day situations. I have discovered an online community where members are all learning the same language. That, I believe, will enable me to study French more effectively. Additionally, I have discovered some excellent YouTube teaching channels. I eagerly anticipate the day when I will be able to speak the lines from my favorite French film in that language.

Model Answer 2

What is the goal?

Goals give directions to our life. It is important to have goals that one wishes to achieve. I have currently set my goal to pursue my Ph.D. from one of the best universities in the country.

Why is it your goal?

I have been preparing for it since I got admission to a master’s course. I am an art student and I want to research the same topic. To get admission to the university, I have to first clear the entrance exam and then interview. I have talked to my seniors who are currently pursuing Ph.D. to get some idea about the whole process. I also keep researching about it online.

How easy or difficult do you think it will be to reach the goal?

I know one thing for sure: to clear the entrance, one must be thorough with their master’s syllabus. The fundamentals must be strong enough and candidates should have clarity about what they want to research. Working towards the goal requires perseverance, dedication, and hard work. The journey in itself is as rewarding as achieving the goal itself. Once we achieve the goal, the whole journey becomes so important. Every struggle, every ounce of hard work put into achieving it becomes a cherishable memory. My goal is not easy as I will be competing against so many candidates who have the same goal but that doesn’t belittle my determination.

How do you plan to achieve this goal?

Every day I keep finding ways to enhance my knowledge about the core subject as well as different approaches to find the one that would suit me the best. Whenever I start losing focus, I think of why I started in the first place and how significant it is for me to achieve my goal. It encourages me and I feel more confident. I believe that soon I will be one of the Ph.D. scholars at the top-rated university in my country and feel proud of it.

Model Answer 3

What is the goal?

Goals are important for every person. They can be short-term or long-term which varies from person to person. My goal is to be fluent in communicating in the English language.

Why is it your goal?

I have done my schooling at a school that had Hindi as the medium of instruction. In such a case, conversing in English for me is difficult. To cope with that, I have tried to learn as many words as possible. I feel comfortable speaking in my native language. In school, all the art and cultural activities that were conducted were too done in the Hindi language. English was just one of the compulsory subjects. When I completed my schooling and stepped into the real world, I got to know the importance of learning English as it's a global language. I have dreams to relocate to one of the countries of the United Kingdom and knowledge of the English language will be mandatory. I won’t be able to clear the IELTS exam if I fail to converse in the language without inhibitions.

How easy or difficult do you think it will be to reach the goal?

It won't be easy to learn English. As I have not spoken it since childhood. Also, my mother language is Hindi. But if I try my best then it won't be as difficult as it seems.

How do you plan to achieve this goal?

To prepare for the same, I have enrolled in an English-speaking institute and every day I learn something new. My vocabulary is improving and I can speak in a better manner. I am still not as fluent as needed to clear the English language examination but from where I started. I am currently doing much better. I also watch English movies and listen to songs and try to sing in my personal space. I try to interact with people in English and even though it takes me time to pick suitable words for my thoughts it is helping me build confidence. I look forward to the day when I will be able to speak without inhibitions and make myself proud by achieving the goal I have set.
