Model Answer 1

What was the name of the film

I am overjoyed to have been asked to speak on this subject because I have always loved movies. I watched movies of all kinds as a child. I enjoy watching all kinds of movies, whether they are comedies, thrillers, romances, or slashers. My friend and I watched the movie "Mother/Android" over the past weekend.

What was it about

In the film, a young couple flees their homeland to protect themselves from the robots' fierce attack. The movie started out a little slowly before picking up speed. I've never seen a movie that could make me feel so many different things. I started crying during the first half of the movie as it put me on an emotional roller coaster. The plot, which concerned a young couple trying to protect their unborn child—who was their world—from an attack by artificial intelligence, was extremely well done. The relationship between the main characters was initially depressing but ultimately endearing.

What propelled you to watch the film

I first viewed the video on YouTube and immediately added it to my watchlist because it featured Chloe Grace Moretz, one of my favourite actors. She is a fantastic young actress with the potential to win an Oscar in the future.

Who did you watch it with

The plot also caught my attention since, on the advice of my best buddy, I've been reading more action-packed thrillers lately. We watched this movie together and couldn't stop praising the cinematography's use of light and shadow to depict the young couple's flimsy mental state. The running time of this film was only one and a half hours. But it was successful in keeping my companion and I interested right up to the conclusion. It got me thinking about Darwin's "survival of the fittest" theory. The main characters persisted in their fight until they were overcome, never giving up. The character of Chloe was of a strong, independent, and wise girl who managed to pull off giving birth despite all odds. There was one dialogue in the movie that has been repeated twice that women have been birthing since ancient times.

What did you learn from it

Through those lines, I felt the film was trying to imply that women have been capable, brave, and creators despite all the obstacles they have faced. As a result, I thought the film was much deeper than what was said or visually displayed. The fact that the iron-willed woman survives while the boyfriend ultimately perishes suggests that life can be full of difficulties, and we should approach them with the proper balance of kindness, tenacity, and bravery.

Model Answer 2

What was the name of the film

I have never been much into watching movies but since I have been asked to speak about it I would like to talk about a very famous movie Dead Poet’s Society starring Robin Williams. Set in England, the movie is about a teacher who encourages his students to live life a little more through poetry.

What was it about

The movie beautifully touches upon the method of teaching. It was for the first time that I could observe that a different teaching style could bring enormous changes to young minds. Since I am myself a teacher I know the importance of a learner-centric education system. Every child is different and so are their needs and potential.

What propelled you to watch the film

As it is rightly said that the worth of a fish cannot be fathomed by its ability to climb a tree, similarly, the talent of children cannot be determined by putting them in the same vessel. The movie also highlights the creativity of children which gets blocked due to external factors. Parents often do not allow their children to pursue art to build a career. Many people still hold a traditional mindset that one should make a career only in medicine, engineering or the business industry. However, the movie emphasizes the need for poetry to survive, live and be more empathetic and humane thereby challenging the conventional thought process.

Who did you watch it with

I watched this movie with my best friend on his recommendation.

What did you learn from it

I always revisit this movie whenever I get some time off my work as I learn so much every time I rewatch it. To be honest, this movie has played an impactful role in my life concerning my career choices. I have even recommended this movie to my colleagues and have held long discussions about it. It always motivates me and pushes me to become a better version of myself and influence my students positively. I always teach them the importance of “carpe diem” , that is to make the most of the present without worrying much about the future which I learned from the movie. This movie will always be close to my heart and will be my safe haven concerning when I feel despondent and need some boost of motivation.

Model Answer 3

What was the name of the film

I was once scrolling through youtube and I watched a trailer of a 2009 movie called Triangle. The trailer seemed interesting to me as it looked like a psychological horror film which is my favourite among all genres. I instantly prepared a cup of coffee, tucked myself in a thick blanket and put on my cinephile glasses.

What was it about

Triangle began with a woman as a central character who had to take her autistic son on a boat journey. In the journey, she encounters a lot of her versions and has to fight each of one them only to die in the end. It is a time loop movie in which a character is stuck in a time loop and restarts her day again doing the same thing over and again but hoping for a different result every time. I found it very intriguing as it made me realise how futile is the attempt to escape every day while in reality, we are all rolling a stone uphill same as Sisyphus only to see it falling and then restart the process all over again. It made me realise that we are all stuck in common labour for wages to make ends meet. Once in a while, we all try to run away to hills or beaches which is us rebelling against the bourgeoisie but eventually we come back to serve.

What propelled you to watch the film

However, the movie was open-ended and everyone can have his or her interpretation about it but in my observation, it ended on a positive note despite the unending loop since the pivotal character did not give up, continued fighting and reliving the days, trying out possibilities and viewed every day as a new opportunity to come out of the loop suggesting me that every day is a new chance to fix the problems that trouble us.

Who did you watch it with

I watched the movie alone. I love watching movies alone as I can feel and interpret meaningful messages.

What did you learn from it

Though the movie is dark and intense, it would easily grasp the attention of the viewers due to its cinematography and background music that is tense and ominous and at times comforting too. I realised the movie came out in 2009 and despite that it kept me glued to the screen till the very end speaks how interesting the concept was. Movies based on time loops and parallel universes have now been exhausted but at the time it came, it was relatively a new concept and I would recommend this movie to everyone who is into watching dark psychological horror movies.
