Describe a Famous Actor or Actress you Admire IELTS Cue Card

Topic: Describe a famous actor or actress you admire IELTS Cue Card

You should say:

  • Who this person is
  • What they are famous for
  • What you like about them
  • And explain why you admire them

Answer 1:

Who this person is?

There’s no actress I admire more than Deepika Padukone. She’s honestly feels like the complete package: insanely talented, hardworking, and still so graceful no matter how massive she’s become.

What they are famous for?

Everyone knows her from movies like the quirky, beautiful Piku, the total masala fun of Chennai Express, the grand Padmaavat where she looked every bit a queen, and that bubbly Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani vibe we all fell in love with. But what really sets her apart is how real she is off-screen. Years ago, when practically no one in India talked about mental health, she came out and said she’d battled depression. Then she went ahead and started the Live Love Laugh Foundation to help others not feel alone. That took real guts.

What you like about them?

On screen, she can slip into any role and make you believe it—whether she’s a fierce royal or a regular Delhi girl arguing with her dad over breakfast. There’s this effortless magic about her; you just can’t look away. Off screen, she’s elegant, warm, and surprisingly down-to-earth. She’ll slay the Cannes red carpet one day and post a throwback picture with her parents the next.

And explain why you admire them?

I admire her because she never lets fame make her forget who she is. She works harder than most, stays kind, speaks up for things that matter, and somehow keeps growing as an artist and as a person. To me, Deepika isn’t just a superstar; she’s proof that you can be successful, glamorous, and genuinely good all at once. That’s why she’ll always be my absolute favourite.

Answer 2:

Who this person is?

The actor I admire the most has to be Aamir Khan—everyone calls him Bollywood’s “Mr. Perfectionist,” and honestly, the nickname fits him perfectly.

What they are famous for?

He’s given us unforgettable films like Lagaan (that cricket epic that got an Oscar nomination), the heart-wrenching Taare Zameen Par about a dyslexic child, the laugh-out-loud yet super-smart 3 Idiots, and Dangal, where he played a wrestler dad training his daughters. Every movie feels like it has a soul; they entertain you but also make you think about things that actually matter—education, dreams, women’s rights, parenting, you name it. He even hosted a TV show called Satyamev Jayate that exposed real social problems in India, and millions watched it every Sunday morning.

What you like about them?

What blows me away is his insane level of commitment. For Dangal he gained 30 kilos to play the older version of the father, then lost it all again to play the younger one. For Ghajini he built an eight-pack at forty. He’ll spend a year preparing for one role because he refuses to do anything half-hearted. He doesn’t chase ten releases a year like others; he picks one script, lives with it, and makes sure it says something worthwhile.

And explain why you admire them?

I admire him because he proves success and responsibility can go together. Even after becoming one of the biggest stars on the planet, he lives simply, avoids scandals, and genuinely cares about the country. He uses his fame to start conversations nobody else dares to. That mix of talent, hard work, humility, and purpose is rare. To me, Aamir Khan isn’t just a great actor—he’s the kind of human being I’d love to become.

Answer 3:

Who this person is?

The person I look up to most is Emma Watson. Yes, the girl who brought Hermione Granger to life, but honestly, the real Emma is even more impressive than the character.

What they are famous for?

She shot to fame as a kid in Harry Potter, yet somehow never let it go to her head. While other child stars were crashing and burning, she quietly finished school, then went off to Brown University in the US and actually graduated with an English literature degree. That alone makes me respect her.

What you like about them?

What I love about her is how smart and composed she is. She speaks so calmly and clearly, whether she’s on a red carpet or addressing the United Nations. As UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, she launched the HeForShe campaign, asking men to stand up for gender equality too—it went viral and actually got millions of guys to pledge support. She’s been fighting for girls’ education, fair pay, and women’s rights long before it was trendy.

And explain why you admire them?

After Harry Potter, she picked roles that meant something: the gentle Belle in Beauty and the Beast, the fiery Meg in Little Women. She could easily just do big paychecks, but she chooses projects with heart.

I admire her because she proves you can be beautiful, successful, and famous without losing your values. She reads tons of books, calls out injustice when she sees it, and still seems kind and approachable. Emma makes me believe one person really can change things for the better—and she’s actually doing it. That’s why she’ll always be my role model.
