Model Answer 1

When was it?

One of the daily meals, dinner is typically eaten in the late afternoon or evening. My favourite dinner date is with my parents when we all eat together at the dining room table and speak about our days. When my parents gave it to me on my birthday, that was one of the most unforgettable meals I can still recall.

What did you eat?

My parents planned a special birthday meal for me last month. A prominent restaurant provided the cuisine, which was also adorned. The cuisine was outstanding in both quality and flavour, and I also got to spend time with my family, friends, and parents. The restaurant gave me a cake and birthday wishes because they knew the food had been ordered for a birthday celebration. I appreciated the restaurant's thoughtfulness.

Who were with?

My home and terrace are decorated by friends. rooms decorated with lights, flowers, ribbons, and balloons. I was given a decadent chocolate cake by my friends. I divided the cake that my friends had brought for me and the cake that the restaurant management had given me later in the day. Delicious cakes are shared by all of us. Soon after, we had chicken lollipops and paneer tikkas for dinner. Our pals began playing on the patio after we finished our evening appetizers.

My mother called us for dinner at 9.30 p.m. We were utterly astonished when we approached the dinner table. For myself and my pals, my parents planned a fancy supper. After a dinner of fish fry, mixed fried rice, and mutton kasha, we enjoyed chatni, papad, and some delectable desserts, including rosogolla and dudh puli. At the conclusion of supper, my father presented each of us a lovely cornetto dark forest ice cream.

Why did you enjoy it?

It was time for my buddies and I to say farewell as soon as our parents and other family members finished their different meals. The fact that the day went by so rapidly made me incredibly unhappy. With my friends, family, and other relatives, I had a great time. I received a lot of gifts. The memorable evening I had with my friends and family, which I thoroughly loved, and the special dinner my parents gave me will be in my memory for the rest of my life.

When was it?

I like to have dinner with my parents. Every day, all family members used to gather in the dining room in the evening to have dinner. We used to talk to each other about the day and have our dinner. As I grew up, I moved to another city for my higher studies. Two years have passed and I have not eaten together with my parents. I used to miss the moments that I shared when I was in my home. One such evening, I was feeling very lonely when my college friends came to my hostel. My exams were knocking at the door and I was feeling very pressurized. Seeing my dull face, my friends asked me to go out with them for dinner. Firstly, I was not interested. But they kept nagging, and finally, I went with them for dinner. Even today, I am thankful to them for that day. We went to a reputed restaurant in Kolkata.

What did you eat?

We were welcomed with soft drinks. We sat on the rooftop; a live music concert was going on. We ordered chicken drumsticks and Shahi-paneer kebabs as starters. The food was delicious. With one bite I felt my mood getting better. It was late when we ordered our dinner. That was some dinner to remember. Firstly, we were served green Korean rice, dry chilly pomfret fish, and banspora mutton. The quality and taste of the food were amazing and equally good was the ambiance of the roof-top restaurant. Finally, we taste some lovely ice-creams namely black currant, butterscotch, and chocolate to conclude our lovely evening. By 11.30 pm we reached our hostels.

Who you were with?

I realized that day that good food can not only fill your stomach, but it can also lift your mood spontaneously. I was with my friends and I enjoyed it a lot. We enjoyed our starters, having fun with each other with chit-chat and banters. Later, we all started singing according to the tune of the song. It was one such evening that repeatedly kept coming to my mind.

Why did you enjoy it?

As it was summertime, it was quite hot in the eastern parts of the country. We enjoyed the cool breeze on the terrace. All the loneliness that I was away from my family for such a long time was totally replaced by my friend's company. I thank God for presenting me with such lovely friends. I will remember the evening throughout my life. That evening completely changed me as a person and made me a more focused and realistic person. I was able to concentrate on my studies after that evening. I will be obliged to my friends forever.

When was it?

It was the time of Durga puja in October in West Bengal. Durga puja is the most important and renowned festival for Bengalis. It was Ashtami of Durga puja when my elder sister was coming home with her husband after 2 years. She was married and settled in New York. My parents and I have not seen her for 2 years. We were overjoyed by the news of her homecoming. My mother prepared a special dinner for them. It was one such evening I will remember throughout my life, not only because of the delicious food but also the quality time I spent with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law.

What did you eat?

My mother presented all the Bengali dishes. The whole food was cooked by my mother and my aunt. Firstly, we were given polao, hilsa curry, and prawn curry. Those are all typical Bengali dishes. My sister and I both love Bengali food. Although my brother-in-law was not a fan of Bengali food as it contains a lot of oil and is very rich in taste. But that day, he also loved the taste of the food. Finally, we concluded our dinner with Misti Dahi, Rabri, rosogolla, and Sandesh.

Who you were with?

In the morning we all devoted ourselves to Ma Durga. It was the season of the festival. We all were celebrating. My sister brought clothes and watches for me from New York. It was a happy and joyous time in the family. My elder sister specially ordered my mom to prepare Bengali food. My mother prepared delicious puris with ghugni and sondesh in the evening. After the sandhi puja, the priest gave us some food that was a devotional offering to God, which was later shared by all of us present in the pandals. After we returned home, we all sat together for dinner.

Why did you enjoy it?

As it was Maha Ashtami, we all dressed in traditional attire in the evening for sandhi puja. We all gathered in our puja pandals where we met all our relatives, and neighbors. We all danced together to the tune of dhak. That evening became memorable for me. Durga puja is a festival of festivals. We Bengalis love to celebrate and be a part of Durga puja. Celebrating Durga puja with family is a double advantage. After many years also, the Ashtami evening will be the most memorable evening of my life.
