Band 7 IELTS Essay

In today's globe, it is evident that a great number of energy resources, such as oil and natural gas, are in high demand. As a result, drilling for these resources has become an important source of income for individuals all over the world. At the same time, this phenomena has put additional strain on the global ecosystem. As a result, I am certain that the drawbacks of this phenomena exceed the benefits.
It is undeniable that the exploitation of natural resources such as oil and gas has several benefits, such as the industrial revolution, which will also assist residents find jobs. Oil has a high energy density and is readily available to create numerous types of energy. Furthermore, drilling for oil from the earth generates greater fuel supply. As a consequence, gasoline prices are reduced. Overall, these natural resources contribute to the country's economic growth and long-term development.
The major problem of exploiting these resources is that they will significantly harm the ecosystem. Furthermore, the extraction of natural resources has negative environmental consequences such as global warming and climate change. Excessive usage of fossil fuels, oil and gas extraction cause a rise in global temperatures that affects green spaces. As a result, exploitation of green areas and drilling for natural resources will endanger humanity as more and more illnesses spread faster, hurting human health. As a result of human activity, the environment will be disrupted.
To restate, while the extraction of natural resources has some advantages, it also has a number of disadvantages for the environment that exceed the advantages. As a result, in my opinion, mankind should cease exploring unexplored countries for natural resources and instead look for alternate sources.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

With the recent advancement in technology, the world is seeing unprecedented growth in the demand for oil and gas. Though it is a direct effect of growing consumerism, capitalism, and manufacturing and developmental spheres. These are the new measures of uplifting the quality of life to be stated in easier terms. Though this method is not backed by certain groups of people, it has an uncanny way of escalating the lifestyle standard. Oil and gas are both used for the warming of houses, viable uses of cars, aircraft and also functioning of products.

The standard of living of people have significantly increased due to the vast presence of the supplies. Moreover, people have been trying to shift to remote places only to have access to the natural resources at lower costs. No matter how advanced the method is, we can never absolutely affirm the fact that it causes big destruction to the environment. The demand for oil and gas directly sabotages the ecosystem. It causes catastrophic changes in untouched and evergreen places. Let us take, for example, the North Pole, a dwelling of the lively penguins, polar bears, and also massive glaciers, and more distinctive species. This is a place that other nations have been eyeing but a single mistake of oil spillage would demolish the whole ecosystem. Since these are sheer unique creatures, protecting them tends to be the utmost priority for everybody across the globe. In fact, the excessive use of gasses and oil results in an immense level of pollutants, and also vehicle usages. Extending the usage of oil and gas is not going to be a helpful solution for the environment. Greenhouse gasses are emitted into the air and that is becoming a risk factor for you. What should be the concern right now is searching for environmentally friendly energy sources. Usage of solar energy for generating power vehicles is a good way to proceed. Hence, the disadvantages can be considered to be higher than advantages. People need to focus on using energy efficient resources which are renewable like solar or wind energy.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

In today’s time when there is a boundless increase in the transport system, industrial growth, and population, there is a simultaneous increase in consumers, globalization, and industrialization. This growth trend has resulted in the depletion of natural resources, and concurrent demolition of gas and oil. The growth increased so much that the demand for oil and gas is immensely increasing. Therefore, amassing gas and oil from untouched or unscathed places has been concluded as an option.

This decision, no matter how productive would make the present world’s civilization advanced, would impose a traumatizing threat on the ecosystem. It may be identified that many countries have been trying to shift their focus from oil and natural gas to electricty produced from renewable sources. For instance, electric vehicles have come into the market that has been increasingly reducing the pollution concentration in the environment. However, many consider the shift to remote areas as essential to make use of the natural oil and gas. There are only a handful of remote areas left behind on Earth, and attacking those just to feed the avaricious demand of human beings is so not worth it. But a prominent factor to consider about the gas and oil demand is, an abundance of people are employed because of these industries. If restrained, they are going to face immense trouble in finding new places to earn their livelihood. If there is a reduction in production, there will also be fewer people earning. The companies when earning a restrained amount will deprive the economy of getting enough revenues. A proper way to gear both the production and ensure the safety of the ecosystem is not uncovering the untouched areas. However, overutilisation of the natural non-renewable resources would eventually result in its scarcity hence, disadvantages are more than advantages.
