Band 8 IELTS Answer

The table shows the distribution of Xcountry's gross domestic product across economic sectors from 2016 to 2018. There are three economic sectors presented in the table: agriculture, industry, and the service sector. The units are measured in percentage.

The graph indicates that the service sector has seen a constant decline. However, it has always been the largest contributor to GDP, making up 65% in 2016 and slightly decreasing to 64% in the following year. In 2018, the number significantly decreased by nearly 10%. In contrast, the industrial sector has witnessed a constant growth. Although it only contributed 22% to total GDP in 2016, the number steadily increased to 25% and 30% respectively.

The agricultural sector gave the least contribution to Xcountry's GDP in 2016, making up only 13%. In the following year, the number even slightly reduced to 11%. Despite a 4% growth in 2018, the contribution was still relatively small compared to the two other sectors, which comprised 85% of the total GDP.

In summary, the service sector has been the largest contributor to GDP, but it has seen a steady decline, while the industrial sector has seen a steady increase. The agricultural sector has remained relatively small in comparison. It's worth mentioning that the data only cover a three years period, and it would be more informative if the data covered a longer period.

From the table, it is clear that the contribution of the service sector to GDP has been on a downward trend, while the contribution of the other sectors has been increasing. Specifically, the GDP of the industry sector rose moderately from 22% in 2016 to 30% in 2018. Meanwhile, the GDP of the agricultural sector dropped slightly from 13% in 2016 to 11% in 2017, but it then increased steadily to reach 15% a year later.

On the other hand, the GDP of the service sector experienced a significant decline. Starting at 65% in 2016, it dropped to 64% in 2017 and then fell dramatically to only 55% in 2018. Despite this decline, the service sector still had the highest GDP contribution among all the sectors.

In conclusion, the table illustrates that the contribution of the service sector to Xcountry's GDP has been declining, while the contribution of the other sectors has been increasing. The industry and agriculture sectors had moderate and steady increase in GDP contribution.
