Consumption of The World’s Resources is Increasing IELTS Writing Task 2

On the one hand, consumption has gone up as a result of population growth, particularly in developing nations. For instance, the 1.3 billion people in China required additional industries to be established in order to meet their needs due to the country's rapid population expansion. The government's loose regulations and the general lack of understanding among the populace have also contributed to the excessive exploitation of renewable resources.

For instance, Vietnam has turned into bare land from its former state of lush greenery with trees and forests. Even while the abuse of resources has already caused a great deal of harm, we can still preserve them for the future by taking a few steps. The first action that can be taken is to educate the populace by holding different education camps. Second, the government needs to invest more funds in the hunt for new energy sources. Even while this type of research takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money, the country as a whole will benefit from it.

Last but not least, the political authorities need to enforce tough regulations and tax the sectors of the economy that use limited energy sources.

We are currently seeing a major depletion of non-renewable resources as a result of overpopulation and lax government controls, but population control, the promotion of solar and wind energy, and strong regulations by the government will assist to preserve the resources for the future. Considering all these situations, the excessive use of resources is caused by many factors, and it can be controlled by the methods mentioned.

The most important reasons for the consumption of resources in the world can be broken down into two categories. A high degree of industry and modernisation is the first explanation. To be more precise, one of the effects of the industrial revolution is the lack of natural raw materials that are extracted from natural quarries for manufacturing that uses a lot of natural resources. Additionally, the development of mobility in modern life necessitates a significant amount of fuel. The final one is the growing ignorance among young people about the need to preserve natural reservoirs. Surveys have revealed, for instance, that most people under the age of 30 are more inclined than others to leave the lights on or the faucets open.

Governments should put measures in place that can help to solve this issue because natural resources are not renewable and their overconsumption poses a severe threat to both the environment and humanity's development. First and foremost, the government needs to enact some tax laws that will discourage the use of natural resources or the products made from them, such as gas and oil. 

Additionally, the government should be forced to provide more funding to businesses so they can develop alternative resources like solar or tidal energy. In order to increase students' knowledge of topics like preservation and the value of water for children, educators should expand their educational offerings from primary school through university. Their understanding of how to safeguard our world, particularly in terms of maintaining non-renewable natural resources, may be improved as a result, one can only hope.

In conclusion, it is undeniably true that, despite having legitimate development goals, we are using natural resources like water and oil at an alarmingly rapid rate. Every individual needs to develop a perspective of preservation, in addition to the authorities having solutions to this issue.

First, there are finite amounts of oil and freshwater reserves, and over usage of these two resources will result in a shortage of natural resources. Nations will battle over oil when reserves run out, and without oil, factories, equipment, and automobiles will be useless. In addition, excessive oil usage results in uncontrolled air pollution and disastrous consequences like global warming and climate change, which endanger humankind's ability to survive on the planet. Another major area of worry is fresh water, which is essential for all living things yet only makes up 3% of the total water on the planet. Freshwater supplies are rapidly running out, making it difficult for humanity to continue to live on earth. Without a doubt, deforestation contributes to the extinction of many species and the pollution of our ecosystem.

We are placing an intolerable strain on the natural ecosystem by consuming imported natural resources while most nations attempt to industrialise their way out of poverty. Natural resource depletion, ecological stress, air and water pollution, soil erosion, natural unbalance, extinction of numerous species, water contamination, disease outbreaks, and ultimately a threat to human existence are all results of the increasing rate at which natural resources are being consumed. Every country and person should make every effort to tackle this issue. As a global problem, it demands a worldwide solution. Additionally, every government should make sure that there are sufficient laws and stringent regulations in place to stop the excessive consumption of vital natural resources.

In a conclusion, I would restate that vital natural resources like water, oil, and trees shouldn't be exploited and that both private and public actions may significantly lessen the issues resulting from it. We wouldn't be able to control the consequences if we didn't do it.
