Competitive Sports Can Help to Reach Cultural Interaction Among People of Different Age Groups IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. In modern times, many people wait for sports events to occur in their respective countries. While most people believe that these competitive events like sports can bring tension between two nations, such events, according to me, help in lessening the gap and conflicts between two countries.
It might happen that due to these events the conflicts between two nations might increase. This might be because some crazy sports fans are unable to digest the defeat of their players. They might get into a heated argument with the followers of the other teams. For instance, the match between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs on July 4, 2022. It took an ugly turn when fans did not feel national unity after Brewers fans got into an ugly brawl which made the whole atmosphere tense. If we look at the positive end, these sports events when held internationally have played a very crucial role in building the relationship between two nations. When these events occur, foreign audiences and players get an opportunity to learn the tradition and culture of the hosting nation. This can eradicate all kinds of cultural differences and help in improving the relationship between different nations. This kind of understanding builds better relationships between people of different colors, castes or backgrounds. Moreover, competitive sports like soccer often tend to be loved by people from different age groups as well. Even while being competitive and supporting different teams, people try to enjoy the game with a sportsman spirit.
I would like to conclude by saying that there might be conflicts between athletes or fans during international sports events. But it should not restrict the nations to hold these events as it helps in improving the relationship between neighboring nations.

As we progress towards modernity, we see that most of the people across the nations wait for some of the other sports events which will be held in their country. Although some people opine that these events can cause tension and conflict between the countries, I feel that sports are a very good opportunity to bridge the gap between two nations.
There is a possibility that the conflict and tension between the two countries might increase during these events. There are few athletes and their die-hard fans who can create a brawl if the opponent country wins. This is because they cannot afford to lose against what they call their archenemies. There are many instances where some fans got into a nasty argument with the fans of other countries which led to drastic consequences.If we leave these arguments aside, then we can say that sports have played a very important role in enhancing the relationship between different nations. While these events occur, athletes and people from different countries visit the hoisting nation and get to know their culture and traditions. This removes all kinds of cultural differences and helps in improving the relationship between different countries. This brings a better understanding of the relationship between people of different caste, colors and creeds.On the other hand, the competitive sports tend to build relationships between the people of different age groups. From young to old, competitive sports like soccer and tennis tend to influence different groups of people to sit down for serious conversations. Even international matches forecasted on TV tend to be of great interest when different aged people watch them together.
I would like to conclude by saying that there might be conflicts between athletes and audiences during international sports competitions. However, on the other hand it also helps in improving relations between different nations.

According to me, these events are very important in bridging the gap between two nations.
It can be accepted that during these events the fight between two nations can become worse. The reason is that some of the athletes of other nations and some fans who worship their players cannot stand their defeat by the other nation. We get to hear many instances where fans of two teams get into an ugly brawl. Likewise, when one nation is defeated by the other nation, it adversely affects the relationship between two countries adversely. Although if we look from a positive angle then we can understand that this kind of sporting event plays a vital role in decreasing the cultural and other gaps between nations. When this kind of event occurs, athletes and audiences from different countries learn the traditions and culture of the hoisting nation. This eradicates all kinds of cultural differences and helps in improving their relations. This kind of understanding strengthens the relationship between people of different caste, colors and backgrounds.
I would like to conclude that although there might be a rise in tension and conflict when sporting events occur between different nations. But if we look from the positive end then the relationship between two countries also develops positively.
