Band 8 IELTS Essay

Children in school are expected to be involved in extracurricular activities which helps in development of their skills and enhancing their competencies. One of the common beliefs is that children need to be taught the way of giving speeches and presentations while they are in school. The idea behind it is that children would develop the ability of public speaking and enhance their communication skills. I tend to agree with this aspect and believe that when children learn how to speak in public and in front of numerous people, it helps them to grow as a person. They are able to become more confident and extend their capabilities.

It must be understood that children are not always expressive and confident which they must develop as individuals. Being expressive is necessary to ensure that children feel comfortable in being opinionated. It is to ensure that they are able to express their ideas, feelings and their knowledge with others. Speeches and presentations are part of the academic culture of schools because it is believed that it provides opportunity to students to express themselves. The core abilities of students are understood even for those who are extroverts. This certainly helps in understanding their abilities and knowledge while providing them the chance to improvise their skills. While many students can work better in a team, it is essential that students develop the confidence to speak individually as well. Moreover, gaining confidence to speak up and share opinions and ideas is not only important in terms of classroom environment. It is also essential that students who are extroverted in nature develop the confidence to speak against wrong actions. It is essential that schools include speeches and presentations as part of their curriculum. Students would work efficiently and study for the same thus, helping teachers to understand the improvements required and provide them with proper coaching. Thus, I opine that speeches and presentations should be taught within the schools in order to boost self-confidence of the students. It is essential to make them more opinionated and expressive.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

One of the common beliefs is that while they are in school, children need to be taught the way of giving speeches and presentations. The main reason behind this is to boost the self-confidence of the students and improve their public speaking abilities. I believe this is a form of extra-curricular activity which can be induced within academic curriculum to expand the ideas and expression of the children. Not all the children in a school are expressive and extroverted in nature while not all extroverts are good speakers.

Being able to express one’s views and share their knowledge makes an individual more efficient as a person. They are able to communicate more with their classmates and teachers, their ability to think expands while they are also able to increase their knowledge capacity. Speeches and presentations need to be part of the academic culture of schools because it provides equal opportunities in participation in different activities. Teachers are able to identify and understand what are the skills and ideas that need to be developed and improved within the students. It is certainly difficult to understand the competences as a speaker when children work in a group project. It becomes essential to focus on the individual ability to speak in front of the class or school and helps in boosting self-confidence. Furthermore, most of the bullies and abuse faced by children in schools go unnoticed and without any proper action. In such situations mostly students are unable to speak for themselves because they are uncomfortable and afraid as well. The ability to speak in public, become opinionated as well as express the ideas and issues of one’s own makes a person stronger. The efficiency of the children is more enhanced when it is endured through presentations and speeches. Extempore speeches can be conducted where students might speak their mind. Thus I think speeches and presentations are valuable aspects which need to be taught to children.

Band 6 IELTS Essay

One of the common beliefs is that while they are in school, children need to be taught the way of giving speeches and presentations. I definitely agree with this viewpoint where children in school are able to learn the art of speaking. This should be based on both limitation of topics and from a wide range of issues. The main reason behind speeches and presentations are the abilities of children to express ideas. Certainly, not all students are capable of jotting down their ideas into speaking words. On the other hand, many who are able to speak in public are unable to express legit ideas. The need is to view the speeches and presentations not just as a leisure school activity but also as part of their academics.

Children need to learn how to be expressive as being expressive helps in becoming a person more confident. Schools can conduct extempore speech activities in relevance to the topics of their course or in general which might help students to communicate with their class. Teachers would be able to understand how efficient a person is in speaking up their heart and mind in front of people. Moreover, improvisation is a great virtue and teachers need to imbibe the qualities of urge for improvement and zeal for speaking in public. Teachers are able to identify and understand what are the skills and ideas that need to be developed and improved within the students. Most of the time children are unable to speak out their feelings and emotions or even any issues they are facing due to their inability to communicate .Many children are bullied and abused in schools which do not come to teachers’ attention because the student was unable to speak about it. When children develop the strength to speak, they would be able to speak against these actions as well. Thus I think speeches and presentations are valuable for children and need to be taught in school for enhancing their confidence and maintaining their integrity.
