Band 6 IELTS Answer

The line graph shows the percentages of these visitors who specifically visited Australia between 1985 and 1994. Whereas the bar chart shows how many Japanese people travelled abroad between 1985 and 1995. In general, more Japanese than ever before have travelled abroad, and this is also true of Japanese tourists who have come to Australia.

As noted in the image, approximately 5 million Japanese citizens travelled abroad in 1985, and this number increased each year except for 1991. In just six years, it increased from around 7 million visitors in 1987 to 12 million. Once more, it rose sharply, rising from just below 12 million in 1992 to just above 14 million in 1995. Finally, three times more Japanese travelled abroad in 1995 than a decade prior, when just about 5 million people did so. According to the line graph, just 2% of Japanese visitors came to Australia in 1985; nevertheless, this number steadily rose to almost 5% in 1988. The ratio marginally increased the following year before increasing steadily over the following few years. The largest percentage of Japanese visitors to Australia, which was exactly 6% in 1994, was received in 1993, which was above the average. In addition, it increased dramatically once more, from just under 12 million in 1992 to just over 14 million in 1995. In addition, from a meagre 2 percent in 1985, the proportion of Japan's tourist market increased progressively by about 5 percent. And then reverting to somewhere around 4.5 percent in 1990. Additionally, its percentage peaked at more than 6 percent in 1994 before declining to 6 percent in 1995. Japan's travel to Australia increased steadily throughout time, as evidenced by the fact that more Japanese visited later than they had earlier.

It's interesting to note that by the conclusion of the following decade, this number had tripled (15 million in 19995). Up to 1990, this time period saw an upsurge in the tendency of Japanese tourists visiting other countries. Then, in 1991, this number was slightly lowered, and from then until 1995, a modest rise in this number was seen. As is clearly visible, Australia's percentage of Japanese tourists stayed at 2% in 1985. Additionally, until 1988, a steady rise was noted. But this percentage started to significantly decline in 1989, and then there was another increase in share that was noticed. This pattern continued until 1993, when Australia's share had risen above 6%. In 1994, the percentage finally reached a value of 6. In conclusion, Japanese tourists travelled internationally throughout the ten years. And throughout that time, Australia saw an increase in the number of Japanese visitors.
