The pie charts show the percentage of Ashby residents and persons in the entire United Kingdom. It includes those who were between the ages of 23 and 65 and employed in various occupations in 2008. In general, the majority of residents of the United Kingdom worked in offices. Despite the fact that most of those in Ashby had jobs involving personal services.

Compared to Ashby, the UK had a larger population of professionals. In comparison to the rest of the UK, Ashby has a greater percentage of unemployed persons. Compared to the UK's 10% unemployment rate, Ashby's rate was 14%. Similar to this, Ashby had a greater rate of construction employees than the UK, at 16% and 10%, respectively. Similar to Ashby, 17% of UK residents and 21% of residents of Ashby both worked in fields connected to personal services.
