Band 7 IELTS Essay

In today's society, more charitable events are held. Such occasions frequently go by the names of holidays like National Children's Day or National No Smoking Day. For a reason related to simplicity, organisations choose names like this. Further, doing so has an impact on the attitudes and behaviours of those events in both positive and negative ways.

To help their activities stand out in the memory, organisations give them special names and special days. People always recall the date and the content of a commercial after hearing it for the first time, even if they have not seen the advertisement. The celebration of women's and men's equal rights on March 8th is known as International Women's Day, which serves as a good illustration of this. Therefore, without hearing a detailed explanation regarding the woman's rights that day, people naturally respected them. This could be the primary motivation for the organisations to provide special day designations to their events.

This phenomena has a number of impacts that are discussed in the media. It efficiently raises people's awareness. Since the names of the events immediately convey the moral worth, according to a social study done in the United States. The more individuals who are tied to the event's goal, the more closely the name is associated with it. Moreover, the more readily the insight is accepted. However, due to the people's strong associations, which cause them to act in a certain manner just on a specific day, this influence is not long-lasting. National Children's Day, for instance, serves as a reminder to treat children with kindness. But on the day after, individuals have a tendency to treat kids less nicely than they do on International Children's Day.

The aforementioned data demonstrates that charities are given special day names by organisations so that people can easily remember them. However, this results in people acting differently on special days than they would on regular days. Increasing our knowledge of social issues and developing positive attitudes about them at all times should be a priority.

National Children's Day and National Non-Smoking Day are only two examples of the unique days that have been named in recent years. These terms for particular days are coined by charities and organisations to draw attention to them. I will go into more detail in this essay about the causes and effects of these unique days.

There are a few reasons why charitable causes and organisations have designated a particular day. Take National Children's Day as an example; it is a day intended to emphasise the need for societies to care for children. To be precise, a lot of kids today experience familial or teacher abuse, such as sexual assault and human trafficking, among other things. In order to avoid child abuse, charities and organisations could educate society about children's rights. And how to treat them properly by observing this important day. The charities and organisations are also able to actively support society with the help of such special days. Consequently, titles for special days are developed for these reasons.

Additionally, these holidays' effects may encourage society to pay more attention to current events. People will be influenced to be better people as a result of special days campaigns that various organisations and charities organise. These campaigns and occasions highlight aspects based on the issues they fight against. For instance, this unique day called Non-Smoking Day will raise public awareness of the harmful effects of smoking on the body. As a result, the effects of the special days can also help civilizations' moral standards.

In conclusion, it is obvious that names for significant days have benefited society. These particular days serve a distinct purpose, which is evident in the name of the day. It demonstrates that there are still people in this world who care about one another by the creation of a number of special days.

These non-profit organisations mostly do it to raise money to support their operations. This is crucial since they need money and other resources for every charitable activity they undertake. They attract attention when they make their actions public, which encourages enthusiastic participation. When there are disasters, they can require a lot of money and labour. Volunteer labour is required. A cloudburst, for instance, recently wrecked devastation in Ladakh. There was a great deal of property damage and a great deal of fatalities.

Numerous volunteers were sent to assist by the local Jaycee and Rotary clubs. All locations cannot be covered by the government alone. The government is relieved of a great deal of load and the people receive timely assistance thanks to these organisations.

People get along better when these organisations designate special days. More and more individuals will engage their attention, time, and energy into activities. This due to days being designated and activities being opened, and they will come to understand the value of doing for others. The result is a rise in societal collective spirit. People are becoming more self-centred and estranged from one another in the current society. There is a need for such days, therefore.

These events make our young people aware of our culture and traditions. Youth these days are losing touch with their traditions as a result of exposure to global culture. The young people may appreciate the significance of such events better if certain days are established. Such days also raise awareness of providing unselfish assistance. As a result, some good habits may be passed down from one generation to the next. Lastly, these occasions discourage people from undesirable practices. On National No Smoking Day, for instance, individuals are made aware of the negative effects of smoking.

In summary, I would like to state that charities and NPOs advertise their programmes in order to raise money. And they designate specific days so that people can gather, celebrate, and recognise the value of their culture and traditions.
