Graph Shows the Changes In UK Birth Rate Of Women in Different Age Groups From 1973 to 2008 IELTS Writing Task 1 sample Answer is given below. Band 6.5 Answer

The line graph displays the number of births per 1000 women in England's various age groups during 1973 and 2008.

Nevertheless, the numbers for women between the ages of 30 and 39 increased, while those for other categories continued to decline beyond 35 years.

In the UK in 1973, the birth rate for the 25–29 age range was 140 per 1000 persons, while it was above 120 for those between 20–25. In contrast, the starting numbers for women under the age of 20 and those over the age of 40 were 60 and 20, respectively.

Despite some minor changes over the course of the period, all of these groups' birth rates decreased, and the ranking remained constant. For instance, in 2008, women aged 20 to 25 had fewer births. Then those aged 25 to 29, who continued to give birth in greater numbers (120 births). The rate of births among women over the age of 40 was substantially lower, falling by 10 to only 10 per 1,000 persons in 2008.

But on the other hand, by the year 2008, the number of births among women aged 30 to 35 had gradually increased from 10 to over 80. Similarly, after being constant for the first 15 years, the number of births among people 35 to 39 increased somewhat to reach 62 births in the end.

The graph compares the birth rate in Britain between the years of 1973 and 2008 for 6 major age groups of women.

The graph clearly shows that the birth rate increased for British women between the ages of 30 and 39. Whereas it decreased for women in other age groups. Females between the ages of 25 and 29 seemed to have the highest birth rates throughout that time.

Women between the ages of 25 and 29 gave birth to approximately 140 children per 1,000 people in 1973. There were some oscillations till it reached 120 or so by the year 2008. Women under 20 and between 20 and 25 also appeared to have had fewer children over the past 35 years. Going from roughly 125 and 60 births per 1000 inhabitants to 95 and 40, respectively, in the final year of the survey. The birth rate of women over 40 years old was substantially lower, falling by 10 births to only 10 per 1000 persons in 2008.

Women between the ages of 25 and 29 had the highest birth rate, 140 per 1,000, in 1973. This number fluctuated a few times before modestly falling to exactly 120. Where it remained by 2008. While this was happening, the rate of births for women between the ages of 20 and 25 gradually decreased by about 30 and peaked at 90. This was significantly larger than the number of women under 20 who saw a steady reduction from 20 to 40 almost after 4 decades. The birth rate decreased somewhat among people under 40, from 20 to 10.

Contrarily, the birth rate for women aged 30-35 progressively increased from 70 to over 80 in 2008. The 35-39 age group likewise saw an increase during this time, growing gradually from 40 to a peak of 62 before rapidly declining.

In the last year of the survey, the birth rates decreased from around 125 and 60 per 1000 residents to 95 and 40, respectively. The population growth of women over the age of 40 was significantly lower in 2008, dropping by 10 births to barely 10 per 1000 people.
