The Practice Tests

The Answer Key pages are available on pages 118–125(7 pages) all the answers are available here. Every question in the IELTS Listening and Reading section tests carries one mark.

  • For all the questions for which the answers are letters or Roman numerals, you will have to write the correct number of answers only. For instance, if an answer is a single letter or numeral you will have to write only one answer chosen. If the answer is marked with more than one syllable, it will be marked as a wrong answer.
  • Answers can either be written in upper or lower case.
  • Words in a bracket are optional i.e., they are not necessary.
  • different answers are split by a slash (/).
  • If the word limit to an answer is specified you need to follow it. For instance, if the answer is a yellow color which is two words u cant answer it as it is yellow in color. It is considered to be the wrong answer.
  • In questions where you are expected to complete a gap, you should only transfer the necessary missing word(s) onto the answer sheet. For example, to complete ‘in the ’questions, if the correct answer is ‘morning’, the answer ‘in the morning’ will be considered incorrect.
  • All answers require correct spelling (including words in brackets).
  • Both US and UK spelling are acceptable and are included in the Answer Key.
  • All standard alternatives for numbers, dates, and currencies are acceptable.
  • All standard abbreviations are acceptable.
  • You will find additional notes about individual answers in the Answer Key. Writing sample answers are on pages 126–135. It is not accurate for you to give a Writing score. So they have provided a section of answers answered by students previously and how many marks they are awarded for the same. The answers will enable the student to have an idea of how the answers must be presented in the examinations.
  • It is made sure that every paper is of the same level as the original IELTS examination. However, you cannot be sure of the score you might get in the real examination as the situation and paper varies along with the student's performance sometimes.
