Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

It is more convenient to communicate using technology. Hence, both businesses and individuals conduct business via telephone rather than face-to-face. The obstacles that need to be overcome in normal contacts does not create a hindrance in contact through technology. The obstacles include environmental pollution, product shipping delays, and customers' inability to return merchandise etc. In this essay we will discuss the advantages and the disadvantages of using technology to communicate.

To begin, managers and buyers alike now have more free time thanks to telemarketing. Marketing transactions take place in their familiar surroundings, and the equipment is delivered to their doorstep. A classic example is online stores like Amazon and Flipkart. Many people do business through those applications and they deliver products to the doorsteps. Time is saved once more, and the rate at which relationships are rewarded is improved. However, the majority of gifts come packaged in a lot of cartons, which the recipient cannot recycle or properly dispose of because doing so could pollute the community's environment. This problem has also been solved as most companies provide eco-friendly packaging. Additionally, the receiver's distance frequently causes delays in the shipment of the goods. Hence, the company is hiring more and more delivery guys.

The delivery date may be extended without the customers' knowledge in case of less stocks. In addition, the products provided to customers aren't what they need, making it difficult for them to get their money back from the business because the industry will either refuse to provide the product or issue a refund. For example, a friend of mine paid Rupees 14,000 for a shoe from an online store. He received two left legs and no right leg. Despite many requests he was unable to return it since he did not take a video of unpacking. The advantages cannot be compared to the disadvantages.

In conclusion, employers and customers prefer online sales because they save time and are quicker when it comes to giving gifts to families. However, there are issues with shipping, making it difficult to return goods, and increasing environmental pollution.
