Average life span of the human in many developing countries is increasing IELTS Writing Task 2

It is a fact that the average life expectancy of a single individual has increased due to global improvements in economic, social, political, educational, and public health sectors. Despite this positive trend, the ageing of the population has posed challenges for governments. First, as the number of senior citizens rises, so does the budget governments must allocate for retirement funds and medical care. Second, the increasing number of senior citizens will cause density issues. As the elderly population grows, the demand for housing rises, driving up property prices, which would be problematic for younger generations.

However, there are measures that governments could take to address the problem. Governments could, for example, increase the retirement age standard. Numerous nations have a standard pension age of 55 years, but they could extend it to 60 or 65 years if their senior citizens are still in good health. Consequently, it would reduce the social welfare budget for the elderly. In addition, governments could provide a subsidy to young people who intend to purchase a home.

In conclusion, the world's accelerated development in recent years has had a positive impact on the average life expectancy. Nonetheless, this positive trend has caused some problems for individuals and communities; therefore, governments must take action to resolve the problem.
 

Numerous factors influence the duration of our lives. In recent decades, life expectancy has increased as a result of scientific advancements, medical advancements, and an improvement in the quality of life. People are more concerned and knowledgeable about their health, and we are more likely to seek medical assistance than in the past. Additionally, access to medical assistance is simpler than ever. Diseases are identified and diagnosed with greater precision and speed, and treatments are more effective. The incidence of diseases is higher among the elderly because they are more decrepit and vulnerable. Therefore, more resources, such as money and labour, should be used to keep the elderly mobile.

In addition, I consider the increase in life expectancy to be the quantitative measurement of existence. Age is merely a number and does not represent all aspects of life. As we age, the substance of our lives diminishes significantly. The final years of an elderly person's life are frequently marked by mental and physical difficulties, as well as a life of isolation and misery. Life expectancy has increased quantitatively, but not substantially enough, in my opinion! We should assist individuals in living longer, and more significantly, better lives.

In conclusion, I believe that living longer can be advantageous if we can assist the elderly live a peaceful and meaningful life. Obviously, it will burden society in multiple ways, but society is nothing without its members.
 

Initially, longevity has increased government expenditures. Clearly, the elderly require greater oversight by state authorities, including retirement pensions, medical expenses, and lodging for those who cannot afford their rent; however, other age groups require a smaller budget. For instance, the administration only has to pay for the education of juveniles, who are healthier than adults. To address this issue, governments must increase their budget to enhance the quality of life for seniors by increasing property and business taxes. This means that the more citizens and businesses pay in taxes, the greater their retirement benefits will be. If the government of British Columbia had collected more taxes from local residents, it would have had more funds to increase pensions for the elderly.

Additionally, ageing may exacerbate the problem of unemployment. Obviously, retired individuals may not be able to afford their daily expenses, and they must continue to work even after age 65. However, many of them are unable to compete with younger job-seekers and those of other age categories. Ageing incapacitates humans physically, prompting employers to prefer to recruit others; consequently, communities would experience a rise in senior unemployment. To address this issue, governments should prioritise the employment of these senior citizens in suitable fields. Certainly, this group of residents has more experience in their field of work, and state authorities can utilise them in some appropriate situations. For instance, writers can be employed in the government-directed section of the official press. They are better equipped to write articles or even publish relevant journals in local periodicals.

In conclusion, the human lifespan is increasing, and I believe that this will increase the demand for state funds and employment opportunities for the elderly. To resolve that the administration should increase taxes and enhance their working conditions.
