Model Answer 1

Where was this place? and Who do you go there with?

Education provides us with knowledge. It helps us prosper in our life. An educational trip is a journey where we get to gain knowledge from the famous place we visit. I got a chance to experience one of the best educational trips with my classmates. They were from the mechanical branch to the Koyna Hydroelectric Power Plant which was arranged by our college. Koyna Hydroelectric Power Plant is one of the biggest hydroelectric plants in India.

What did you do at this place?

Koyna dam is built on river Koyna over which this plant is set up with other 3 dams, the capacity of this plant is 1960MW. The plant is located near Patan district, Satara in the state of Maharashtra. As an engineering student, I was always curious about how hydroelectric plants work and this trip helped me to acquire good knowledge on it. On this trip, I learned how a hydroelectric plant actually works. In addition, I learned how to operate and also learned about machinery and instruments responsible for the working of the plant. There I got to know how daily men work and their respective tasks and learned the detailed working of power plants and got to know about risk factors in any dams. Also the staff showed us how they manage in case any system failures occur in the form of a mock drill which was an ultimate experience.

Explain why you thought this trip was educational?

This visit was an experience to remember where we got to see in front of our eyes what we learn in our books. This trip was unforgettable which is useful in the future when we got practical learning knowledge.

Model Answer 2

Where was this place? and Who do you go there with?

India is a place where a small heritage site introduces a big part of history. So, I got a chance to visit one such heritage site of India known as Sanchi Stupa with my classmates. Sanchi stupa is a Great Stupa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We read about Sanchi stupa in our books but visiting this place was a mesmerizing experience for all of us.

Sanchi Stupa was built by King Ashoka in the 3rd century. This stupa is located inside an ancient Buddhist complex in Madhya Pradesh. It is situated on top of a hill in a small town called Sanchi just 48kms from Bhopal. The main motto behind the construction of this monument was to preserve and spread the Buddhist philosophy and way of life. The Great Stupa is very renowned for being the oldest and largest Stupa present in the Sanchi Buddhist Monument Complex.

What did you do at this place?

During this visit, the guide over there told us the great fact that the great Stupa was destroyed in the 2nd century BCE. It was during the reign of Emperor Pushyamitra Shunga. His son, Agni Mitra, reconstructed the monument and covered the original brick Stupa with stone slabs. This visit also taught us about the great Buddhist architectural styles. It comprises a height of 54 feet and a pedestal diameter of 120 feet. It holds the position of being one of the highest Stupas in the country.

Explain why you thought this trip was educational?

The visit to the Sanchi Stupa was a great event that is created a great part of history. The stupa takes us back in time when no hectic schedule and noise were there. Only a great environment with relaxing silence away from the hustle of the city.

Model Answer 3

Where was this place? and Who do you go there with?

In class 10 we got a chance to visit Chittorgarh as our educational tour. This visit was great to trace the history of the Rajputs and Mughals. Chittorgarh is the biggest fort in India. This historical fort is not only just a fort but home to a variety of art and craft, local cuisine, Mewari music, textile, etc. Chittorgarh is situated at the banks of the Berach River. Chittorgarh is the dwelling for the Chittor Fort, the biggest refuge in India, and Asia. It is a World Heritage Site. The fort, plainly known as Chittor, was the capital of Mewar. In Chittoor, we got to learn about the great wars and invasions of Khilji on this fort. I went there with my professor and classmates.

What did you do at this place?

The Chittor Fort was built by Chitranga, a Mori king. After that, it was Guhila (Gahlot) ruler Bappa Rawal who captured the fort in 728 CE. In 1567–68, the Mughal emperor Akbar besieged and captured the fort. In 1615, as part of a peace treaty between Akbar's successor Jahangir and the Maharana of Mewar, Amar Singh I, Mewar. He accepted Mughal suzerainty, and the fort, as well as the areas surrounding Chittorgarh, were given to Mewar. This fort talks about Mewari rule and also this fort has witnessed many wars. This fort is a strong example of Mewari Rajput construction which is still strong. We visited Vijay Stambha, Gaumukh reservoir, Meera Temple, Fateh Prakash Palace, and also the construction of this fort. This fort is carved from a mountain which directly tells how strong the water canals must be. This fort is designed in such a way that people inside the fort will not have a shortage of water.

Explain why you thought this trip was educational?

On this trip to Chittoor, we learned of the vast culture of the Mewar geography of Chittorgarh. What makes us stand tall after these many years is the water system. It  is unbelievable as the vision of the constructor should be admired. We learned from them that undoubtedly this educational tour was worthwhile.
