The charts below shows agricultural production in two different regions of the country. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Band 7 IELTS Answer
The pie charts shown above compares the percentage of some agricultural products in the 2 different regions of the country. We can see that the proportion of agricultural products, except meat, is different in both the regions.
Starting from the western region, it is clearly visible that this region is the largest producer of grains (45%) followed by meat (35%) and dairy products (15%). Out of all the agricultural products, vegetables make up the smallest percentage, approximately 5%.
In the eastern region, it is observed that this region is the largest producer of meat (35%) followed by the production of dairy products (30%). Grains and vegetables each make up 15% and 20% respectively of the total production.
So, we can conclude that production of dairy products in the eastern region is comparatively more than the production of the plant- based products. In western regions, the production of both the plant- based products and the dairy products have almost equal share.
Band 7.5 IELTS Answer
The pie chart given above shows the percentage of the production of plant- based products and the dairy products of two different regions. The production of meat is the same that makes up 35% of the total production and that of other agricultural products is different in both the regions.
Now, we will compare the percentage of production in both the regions. The percentage of vegetables is higher in the eastern region about 20% whereas it is very small in western region about 5%. The percentage of grains in the western region is three times that of the percentage in the eastern region. Similarly in the case of dairy production, the percentage of dairy products in the eastern region is twice the percentage in the western region.
Therefore, we concluded that in both the regions, the lowest production percentage of an agricultural product is 5% in case of vegetables, and it is in the western region. The highest production percentage of an agricultural product is 45% in case of grains, and it is again recorded in the western region.
Band 8 IELTS Answer
There is a significant difference between the percentage of the production of agricultural commodities in the country’s eastern and western regions. In the eastern region, vegetables make up to 20% of the total production whereas this percentage is very low in the western region, they produce only 5% of the total production. Dairy production is again higher in the eastern region as they make up to 30% of the total production, whereas it is 15% of the total production in the western region. This shows that the proportion of dairy production in the eastern region is twice the production in the western region.
On the other hand, the percentage of meat production is the same in both the regions, that is they produce 35% of the total production. While comparing the percentage of the grains production, we observed that the western region dominates the eastern region as its production is three times more than that of the production in the western region.
Overall, we can say that the main comparison in the agricultural sector in these two regions is done on the basis of grains and dairy production, with smaller contributions from the production of the meat and vegetables.
