Band 7 IELTS Essay

In modern life, different types of advertisements have been introducing different ranges of products. This is mainly to persuade us to make purchases of products which might be useful to us.. I totally agree that advertisements are important and useful. Henceforth, I believe that the benefits of advertisements are more in people’s lives. It is true that sometimes we buy products which may seem unnecessary, however, they have their own advantages. It is understood from its regular use of the products.

Firstly, it is important that we know about the different and new products that are available in the market. It is necessary to know about them to understand which product might be best suited. Advertisements help in understanding what kind of products have come out in the market and which ones are suitable for customers to try on. For example, there are various brands for hair care for people. However, it is not possible for the customers to know about all the products at once. Advertisements help in understanding what kind of products, ingredients and effectiveness does any product have. This is possible based on the promotional campaign conducted by the brands. Secondly, advertisements ensure that people are able to know about their new options in the market. For instance, the coming of new models of smartphones is possible due to their advertisements. People are influenced and attracted by these advertisements hence, their essence can be valued. In addition, advertisements provide the customers a lump sum idea about the different price range the products might have available. Accordingly, features to the price range and their availability in different channels are known by customers through ads. People even have the ability to make comparisons through the ads of different brands and understand their differences and efficacies of their products. Thus, advertisements are a way through which the customers can set up their expectations from a brand. It is a positive way of ensuring that people before purchasing are well aware and informed about it. The advertisements are one of the initial steps promoting consumer purchase behaviour. Hence, the influence of it is important for customers to make informed decisions.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Advertisements are a way through which people are able to squander money on unnecessary products and goods which have become a debating opinion among people. While many people might be of this view, I believe that advertisements are valuable and have a way of improving our lives. Taking into consideration the fact that through advertisements different brands are able to promote their products and services, it is useful for people. It is the typical customer behaviour that they would have an interest in purchasing those products which have user value.

Customers are able to make conscious choices when they see ads on TV or their smartphones. They are able to understand what kinds of products are available in the market, the various alternatives and hence, the differences and similarities between them. It is only possible to purchase a product that could be of need to humans when they are aware of their availability. For instance, a person requires to buy a smartphone but has no knowledge regarding the different brands available in the market. It would be quite impossible for the person to buy the product. Accordingly, with the help of advertisements it enables customers to be attracted to their choice of brands and purchase products they need. It is true that many a time customers purchase products which have no use in their life. They might buy it simply because they thought it was beautiful or because it was of their favourite brand but have no accurate use of it. This can be considered unnecessary spending of money. However, most of the time people spend their money on products which they are aware of from ads and bill-boards. They understand that they need the product at home, for their own use and personal requirement. It would help in solving certain problems for instance, organic face cream solving issues of skin dryness. Hence, the negative aspects are far less than the benefits of the advertisements and have a way of improving people’s lives.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Advertisements definitely are means of promotional campaigns and it is possible for people to get influenced by them. The main purpose of advertisements is to ensure that people are attracted to them and make their purchase. It is true that sometimes it leads people to buy products which they do not really need. However, most of the time, the products purchased by people are useful and beneficial for them. Adverts can be found everywhere from newspapers, to TVs to websites.

Advertisements shown on billboards are a means of enduring promotional campaigns to influence people to make their purchase for a brand and its products. The presence of advertisements is the process of commercialisation whereby, it is possible for the customers to consider they need them. While ads are delusional for people to ensure that they need the product and influence them to make their purchase, in reality they may not need them. However, customers nowadays have become quite aware of the commercialisation process and even brands understand the entire process of their buying behaviour. Certainly, advertisements now portray products with innovations which would satisfy the requirements of the customers. It helps people to identify various brand and product ranges, their prices and their usefulness. The feedback and reviews of people that influences them to make their purchase. The ads are also available nowadays through online mode. The reviews help in understanding the values and usefulness of the product which enables customers to make their informed decisions. Thus, it becomes possible for the customers to undertake purchase of products influenced by advertisements. The customers’ unnecessary buying needs to be reduced through self-control instead of blaming ads.
