Band 7 IELTS Essay

There is no shortage of advertisements in today's world and it is growing like a mushroom. Children and their families are both affected by advertisements, according to some. In my opinion, this statement is true. The purpose of this essay is to present both the advantages and disadvantages of the use of advertisement in today's lifestyle. Fast foods and advertisements on toys lure children and adults and certainly have both pros and cons attached with it.

Children are being targeted by the advertising industry which adversely affects them, since children are vulnerable and easily influenced by these advertisements. Petty crimes such as chain snatching and pickpocketing are motivated by parents unable to meet their requirements. Moreover ,the consumption of fast food and a lot of toys is not advisable for the health and holistic development of children. Children's daily consumption of fast food leads to obesity and it is a root cause of many diseases. The majority of the ingredients in food products are synthetic, for example, monosodium glutamate, a taste-enhancer. Obesity and cancer are well documented ill-effects of such ingredients. The capitalistic value of the world adds nothing but spending money on foods, toys. It often leads people to eat less food items of the local products. Some of the healthier cereals like ragi, wheat, rice have also been eroded. Moreover, the food quality has also been degraded and the use of pesticides, fertilizers has also led to various health problems among the children. Similarly, playing in a team and sharing are not good virtues which children will learn if they have more toys.

Meanwhile, parents always want to fulfill each wish of their children, which requires them to work more. Thus it can make them workaholics, and can prevent them from enjoying their personal lives. There are many problems associated with a workaholic nature, such as tension, anxiety, high blood pressure, etc. According to the above arguments, toys and fast food advertisements are detrimental to both children and their families.

Thus, fast foods and toys are advertised to children so heavily that they are allured to the point of addiction. However, I believe that this impacts not only children, but also the entire family. It is a well-known fact that excessive intake of junk food and unnecessary play items can result in health problems, addiction.

It can often lead to lack of interpersonal relationships. As a starting point, advertising may have an influence on the choice of food among children. In conclusion, they usually prefer unhealthy food items such as fast food irrespective of health benefits. There are some promotional advertisements that use gimmick explanations and subliminal works to deceive consumers regarding substance quality. For example- A product with extra colors and additives may be mesmerizing and may have a diminishing effect on its health value. This may result in juvenile diabetes, obesity, and other illnesses in the body and mind. The second issue is certain toys advertised that are liked to be bought , which may have an adverse effect on the brain and thinking capacity of children. Providing children with toys like spiderman that lack self-power can lead to misunderstandings about their inborn talents. Additionally, some advertisements have disastrous effects on the health and finances of a whole family. Briefly, family members choose to buy fast food for the interest of children or to make them calm as a result of fast food addiction. As fast growing living styles and modernization continue to take over our lives, parents are also encouraged to purchase such items intentionally. Generally speaking, this attitude is purposefully dangerous to the health of family members in terms of health problems.

In the same way, children would have a tendency to be enticed by emerging advertisements for many toys without considering their value or price. The actions of such individuals may disturb the financial situation of a family or even disturb the peace of parents. As well, certain types of toys would mitigate interpersonal relationships and communication. Children can be made to feel like little stars by expensive play items promoted by student anchors or film stars. For any item to be promoted, advertisements are a necessity. The fact remains, that advertisements adversely affect parents' financial and psychological standards .

Therefore, both adults and children are impacted by advertisements in this day and age. Children's development is influenced by advertisements, such as toys and fast food. The cost of these also impacts the pockets of parents who spend a lot of money on them. Provide detailed information about the situation. Advertisements have a massive impact on a child's mental and physical increase. In these types of advertisements, young adults are targeted and their social lives are negatively affected. Examples -Nowadays, children are more accustomed to playing video games with action figures . Due to which decreases their outdoor activities, which can negatively affect their physical growth.

It is harmful for children to eat fast food like pizza and burgers because they become obese and their health is compromised. A variety of methods can be used by the public, including children, to stop these advertisements. In order to prevent this problem from spreading, people need to be made aware of it. It may be possible to launch a small public awareness campaign in schools to draw attention to this issue to stop advertising techniques . In certain circumstances, it is possible that the popularity of food varieties made with international ingredients is a positive development. However there are disadvantages attached with it which one should see. The health benefits of seasonal and local feed are undeniable. Freshness cannot be maintained without freezing imports, which degrades their nutritional value. At supermarkets, for example, most of the meat is stored and frozen for long periods of time. Besides killing healthy bacteria, pesticides have also allowed crops to be transported in a non-seasonal manner. However, imported produce also has many disadvantages, regardless of its benefits. Thus, advertisements which influence children's development should be banned, and the public should be made aware of these advertisements. Parents can teach their children to resist these advertisements.
