Ads Targeting Children Should Not be Allowed During Prime Time IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. The task requires the candidates to provide a tentative and argumentative answer for the question. The sample answers comprises two parts: Introduction and body. The introduction is a brief description about the topic. The body contains argumentative statements and tentative answers to support the test-taker's perspective.
IELTS writing task 2 evaluates candidates based on the knowledge and views they have expressed. The areas that candidates are assessed on are grammar, vocabulary, and style. IELTS writing score is marked based on band scores. The band scores range from 0 to 9. Topic: One of the prime times for advertising on TV is when children get back from school. Some people think that advertisements aimed at children should not be allowed. What is your opinion?

Band 6 IELTS Essay

Advertising is thought to be required for the launch of a product in a market. The most popular kind of advertising is through television, while it can also be seen on billboards, in magazines, and other places. Many of these commercials are broadcast after school while kids are home. While some think this should be prohibited, others think it should continue. I shall support my argument for why advertisements should be permitted to run after school hours in this essay.

As this is a free market, every producer or promoter has the right to advertise their goods. Such announcements serve primarily to alert the general public about the existence of this kind of goods on the market. Therefore, it does not satisfy the criterion of speaking the advertisement if these bulletins are broadcast at times when there is less viewing. For instance, Asianet, the primary news provider in Kerala, airs at least 20 minutes of commercials throughout each newscast. Now, despite the fact that many of these announcements are highly persuasive, they take a lot of time to read. However, since the sponsors have paid for this airtime, the station is permitted to run the advertisements.

On the other hand, some contend that the constant barrage of advertisements at these times would lead to the children. Becoming obsessed with the product and thereby pestering their parents to buy that specific product. They might not even need the goods, but since they see the commercial so often during the day. It tends to remain in their minds and leads to unintended purchases.

In conclusion, I think that advertisements may encourage schoolchildren to ask their parents for unwanted items. I still think that companies have the right to advertise their products on television. A parent ultimately decides whether to buy a product for their child, despite the fact that these displays could make children feel compelled to do so. It is the parent's duty to set limits when necessary, even if the kids have a craving for the marketed goods.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

The effect of having an advertisement in a school, which has always been disputed, is now even more problematic. The dispute about the potential effects of this tendency on youngsters throughout the years. Has been sparked(spot) by the significant influence of promotional firms in the institute. It is generally acknowledged that when an advertisement is shown in a school setting, children are more likely to experience its harmful effects. Hence protecting students is a key objective of consumer policy. However, I believe that increasing the institution's visibility can have a significant impact.

There are several factors that support my viewpoint(stance), but the most notable one is that it gives professors access to additional financing. Which is a crucial and desirable development. For instance, the institution may offer free education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds with enough money. Additionally, they can upgrade the facilities at their schools, such as the libraries, labs, and sports areas. And if they successfully raise enough money, they can also lower the tuition for students by 30%. Additionally, it's not just for their personal advantages; they can also gain a moral lesson from it and impart it to their parents.

So persuade people to buy a product for the benefit of the country. Therefore, all of the aforementioned factors demonstrate how powerfully (good) advertising may be for the public academy.

Another crucial aspect is that some television advertisements are designed. With the sincere purpose of raising brand awareness in youngsters. While avoiding sending them the wrong messages may really be beneficial for them. For instance, a biscuit company that identifies with the word "Genius" supported a campaign encouraging young people. To develop their creativity and become actual geniuses.

In conclusion, both at the production level and the approval level. Advertising must be prepared with caution and care to ensure that the proper message is being sent. Parents must occasionally be stern and resist the need to always give in to their children's demands. In order to teach them not to be swayed by the messages in advertisements and to appreciate money.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Advertising has a significant impact on consumers' purchasing decisions. Because advertisers are aware that children are the center of nuclear families. There has been a sharp rise in the amount of advertisements aimed towards them throughout time. The majority of these commercials are shown in the evenings, when kids are home from school and in front of the television. Some believe that ads aimed at children should be prohibited. I largely concur with this viewpoint because, in my opinion, overly promoted advertisements have a terrible impact on youngsters.

First of all, advertisements that lure kids into the virtual world and entice them to buy things that aren't always worthwhile can easily manipulate them. For instance, toys from the Star Wars franchise are particularly well-liked by teenagers and have strong market sales. Second, the way the advertising is presented causes kids to pester their parents to buy the advertised goods. McDonald's, a fast food restaurant chain, uses this tactic. Their advertisements encourage an increasing number of youngsters to eat unhealthy fast food. Which is heavy in fat and cholesterol and leads to childhood obesity and diabetes.

Ads may even endanger children's lives, which is another justification for limiting their use. Children frequently copy the risky exploits that celebrities in ads execute, and because they are typically unaware of the repercussions. They frequently perish or seriously hurt themselves.

However, not all advertisements are detrimental. In fact, several of them encourage children to develop positive habits. For instance, some advertisements exhort kids to wash their hands frequently and brush their teeth twice a day. These commercials should broadcast during prime time because they encourage children to form good habits.

In conclusion, the majority of advertising that targets kids are too promotional and hurt kids. Because of this, the government must make sure they are not shown during prime time. However, since most kids watch television in the evenings, advertisements emphasizing virtue and social responsibility must air then.
