Your Were Hurt in a Minor Accident in a Supermarket IELTS General Writing Task 1

I visited your supermarket at around 7 in the evening which is often a peak hour. Naturally, when I entered the market I could notice numerous people. Your supermarket is one of the best in my city, and being in a central location which can be accessed by people from different ends of the city, it constitutes an increased population. Your supermarket also has an array of products that cannot be found in other prominent markets. On top of that, it provides some amazing discounts that are very attractive. But the problem is maintenance. My accident happened when I went into the frozen items section and slipped. The floors are so slippery that after purchasing the product I tried to open the door. Since I had products in both of my hands I slipped right before I could open the door.

Though the accident is minor there were all chances that it could result in a huge one. I have been asked to take bed rest for a week as I have an injured knee. I would highly recommend you take care of the floor in the frozen section. It is because of this accident I won’t be able to go to work for many days.

This weekend also I went running my errands. I shopped for the vegetables, meat, and spices, then went to the frozen section to buy some readymade food items. I shopped quite a lot that day and carried way too many bags. Right when I was about to exit the supermarket, the area near the gate was completely slippery due to the rain outside. Nobody was there to even open the gate considering the fact that during the weekends the place generally stays occupied. Since I was alone I somehow had to manage to try to open the door. That is exactly when I slipped because of the excessive weight and fell down. It’s been a week since the accident and I am still bedridden as my arm has been massively injured.

I am writing this to state the pathetic condition of the outside area of the supermarket that stays abandoned and neglected when that is the place where helping people should be present all the time. You should use a rubber shield to protect the area and make it anti-slippery. Today this accident was comparatively minor, but it could have been a massive one.

I shopped for vegetables, meat, and spices, then went to the frozen section to buy some readymade food items. Since I had a lot of shopping bags as part of my weekly grocery shopping, it was difficult for me to reach the elevator at first. While walking down the exit area, the floor was extremely slippery, I slipped with all my bags and I hurt my feet with a cramp. However, I got up somehow with the help of some other customers who dropped me at the lift. I, however, got saved from a massive accident. I hereby complain regarding the slippery tiles flooring of the supermarket about which there needs to be some action taken.
