Model Answer 1

What Story/Novel is it?

Reading books, novels, and stories has never called for my attention. I love to chit-chat and play online games. One day I heard about a novel called “The Old Man and the Sea’’ which caught my attention. The novel really portrayed an amazing theme of strength, wisdom, and friendship which I enjoyed to no limit. I was not aware of the writer but later came to know. The novel was written by Ernest Hemingway in 1951 in Cayo Blanco. He was an American author and journalist.

What was it about?

The novel is about a fisherman Santiago who struggles while catching a giant marlin. The novel highlights his hardships and struggle. I love the ending the most. The novel ends in an ironic conclusion where the fisherman ends up being lucky and unlucky at the same time. The story also has an old Cuban fisherman who has been unable to catch a fish for eighty-four days. Santiago had a friend named Manolin who was forced by his parents to find another lucky partner. On the 85th day, Santiago suddenly realized that a huge marlin had caught his hook. On the second day, Santiago used all his strength to harpoon and kill the huge marlin. He tied the marlin at the side of his boat and sailed back to Cuba. However, he was attacked by sharks who stripped off most of the flesh from the marlin. Thus, in the end, Santiago was left with only the skeleton of the fish.

Why did you find it interesting?

I found the struggle and the friendship of the characters really interesting. The novelist has beautifully highlighted the friendship and the never losing hope attitude with the help of these fictional characters. The novel teaches us life lessons about how we should build our relationships with people. I love how the novel creates an impact on society by learning the hard way. The novel also teaches us that there is no shortcut to success.

Model Answer 2

What was the story/novel?

Either you are a novel lover or you may not find the novels very interesting. Whether you are a student or a job professional, there is one series of novels that will never fail to gain and amaze your attention. This series that is so close to my heart is none other than ‘Harry Potter’. Harry Potter and its seven parts is an amazing collection of novels that I really love. I would recommend the audience definitely not miss this particular collection and utilize their free time in the most creative and magical way.

What is it about?

Harry Potter is a beautiful series of seven fictional and fantasy novels. It has been written by J.K Rowling, a British author. The novel revolves around the lives of young wizards who learn magic and witchcraft in their magical school Hogwarts. This series is one of the best-selling and has called the attention of a large majority of the public. According to some sources, J.K Rowling has set the main theme of the Harry Potter novels as ‘death’. The novel opens up with the death of Harry’s parents. Voldemort's obsession and his quest for immortality led to many deaths and rebirths.

Why do you find it interesting?

The seven series are named Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows. These seven series have highlighted the life of magic schools and wizards while the rest of the world is categorized as the muggles. The story of Harry Potter and all the series of books by J.K. Rowling reached the core of my heart. From its magical storyline to the ideas of how friends become family and fight for each other from evil made me interested.

Model Answer 3

What was the story/novel about?

I have been an avid reader since my childhood. From a tender age, I started listening to stories from my grandparents that later transformed into a likeliness for reading. I have tried my hands on a wide range of books. I mostly like the books written by my country’s people as I can relate to them the most. I do like other writers as well but when it comes to reading for joy, I prefer reading my country’s books.

What is it about?

The story talks about how these harsh landlords used to draw out every penny of money, and torture the helpless farmers till they almost submitted with whatever they had. It is when this poor but fearless farmer decided to not sacrifice themselves before the landlord, and in fact, prepared a revolt against them to end their torture. Though eventually, the brave farmer couldn’t survive neither did the landlord. I purchased this book before visiting a village in our country.

This book attracts me because it skillfully portrays the intricate details of my village, the people, and most importantly its history. I also came to know about the barbarous activities of the landlords that impacted the poor farmers.

Why do you find it interesting?

The story that interests me a lot is about a farmer and his struggle. The farmer put every bit of drudgery into war against the severe feudal system that caused them immense trouble. In this context, it should be noted that, unlike other parts of the European countries and the world, my country has been a victim of it. In fact, it is just a hundred years or so that my country has seen its elimination. Therefore, all the farmers including the one about whom the story is lived under the barbarous torture of the landlords. The landlords only knew about acquiring the sheer loyalty of their subjects or namely, the peasants.
