Letter to Moving Company for Damaging Goods while Moving Them to a New Place IELTS Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter follows a formal approach. The candidate has to address it to a moving company’s manager and tell them they damaged the goods while moving them to a new place. Respected Sir,

This is Alish and I am writing this letter to voice my worry over the carelessness with which my home goods were handled throughout the move to my new home. It was highly disappointing. Your business was commissioned to transport everything from Park Avenue to Model Town over the last weekend, on September 22.

To begin with, your company's staff members were tardy in arriving. Additionally aggravating factors included their rude and ignorant behaviour and insufficient packaging supplies. Unwrapping the furniture items revealed disappointingly that the recently purchased dining table had a significant scratch. And also that one of the chair's legs had fractured during shipping. Sadly, this was the most terrible moving and packing experience I've ever had. I have paid the whole amount up front as well as an additional fee for the safe transport of fragile products. The receipt is enclosed with this letter for your reference. It is expected that staff will receive the appropriate training so as to preserve the reputation of your business. As it is pretty clear that the damage was done because of the carelessness from your staff's side. I am expecting a letter of apologies for the error in handling, along with compensation for the harm done.

Band 7.5 IELTS Letter

Respected Sir,

This letter is in regards with the disappointing behaviour of your company's employees. On May 20, 2022 i registered for the requirement of movers to move my house things to a new place in Delhi. There were many delicate items like LCD, Refrigerator, Cupboard and many more. I instructed them to move them with delicacy and with care. After instruction too there were many scratches in the LCD which resulted in a broken screen.

There were many scratches on the refrigerator too. These items are very costly and resulted in my loss as i bought them recently. I am attaching photos of the scratched and damaged appliances in this.

As per your terms and conditions you will have to pay me the cost for their repair or the cost of the damage will be deducted from the amount paid to you. I would like to request you to strictly look into the matter and instruct the movers to pay attention next time. This will result in the negative feedback and comments regarding your company. Your payment will be paid after the deduction soon.

I hope the same will be kept in mind next time. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Respected Sir,

I am writing this letter in regards to the careless behaviour of your company's service providers. On September 19,2022 i booked your company's service for shifting my house things to a new place in Delhi. There were many small glass showpieces as well as glass decoration items. I packed them separately in a box. I instruct the movers to lift the box with care and delicately.

The movers didn't pay attention to my instructions. I found most of the items broken and damaged. They were gifted by my loved ones and many were very costly. I am attaching the photos of the same. I am very disappointed by the careless behaviour shown by your company's employees.

As per your terms and conditions your payment will be half deducted for the cost of the damaged items. I request you to please strictly instruct the employees to avoid further complaints. They must be more careful with the instructions provided by the client. Also, their behaviour was quite rude. So they must be polite with the client and should lift the items with delicacy.
